2005 North American Rogaining ChampionshipsSanctioned by the International Rogaining Federation Tuesday, August 2 - Wednesday, August 3, 2005 Hat Creek Valley, near Cache Creek, British Columbia, CanadaHosted By: Sage Orienteering and Rogaining Club Kamloops BC, Canada The 2005 North American Rogaining Championships (NARC's) were held in the Hat Creek Valley in the southern Thompson/Cariboo country of British Columbia, Canada. It's a beautiful higher elevation grassland valley with fairly steeply rising forested slopes on either side. We found a nice central location for the "Hash House" which allowed for pleasant loop routes to return and re-fuel at the included country kitchen. Tenting was available on Monday night and allowed everyone to settle into the rhythm of the cattle rancher. Sage Orienteering and Rogaining Club of Kamloops was the host for this years event. Though small in size, our club has hosted many orienteering and rogaine events over the last 17 years. The 2005 NARC's we're our 12th "Classic 24 hour" event. We got most of the "big" items for hosting the 2005 North American Rogaining Championships in place. The "biggest" and most important one was you, our guest and event participant. We had 62 teams and 141 competitors to share in the great terrain and challenges of the Hat Creek Valley. Thanks for helping us get the message out about this rogaine! |
