Bunker Bench
October 17,
2010
We had an
excellent turn-out for Wade Tokarek’s first
course-setting adventure on the Bunker Bench map.
26 people took
advantage of the sunny weather including new comers and old timers. Thanks
Wade!

Long legs on the long course On the long course, there was a long leg from 8 to 9 and then a
massive climb of 27-28 contours from 9 to 10… WOW. I thought we were on a
Murray course for a while. The splits are below. Angela whacked us all on the
long leg. My guess is that she ran the trails. This was a smart move because
the gulley on the straight line course was much deeper than shown on the map
and it was THICK! Fortunately for the rest of us, Angela then slowed down on
the hill climb. I thought that the climb wasn’t too bad … at least it was cool
I kept telling myself, but my legs felt like jelly all the way to the finish.
Good training for ski season! Perhaps that’s why Dana did so well on the climb?
