Travel (top)

Travel from Edmonton to Williams Lake:
By Air: Air Canada, Edmonton to Vancouver and then Vancouver to Williams Lake.
By Greyhound Bus: Edmonton to Prince George, BC and transfer and on to Williams Lake. A 14 hour overnight trip with one transfer!
By car: Highway 16 West to Jasper and Tete Jaune Cache. For those who are interested in visiting Barkerville and/or the Bowron Lakes, continue on 16 to Prince George, then south on Highway 97 to Quesnel (detour to Barkerville or Bowron here) and then to Williams Lake. The other route from Tete Jaune Cache follows Highway 5 south through Blue River to Little Fort, then west on Highway 24 to 100 Mile House and then Highway 97 northeast to Williams Lake.

Travel from Vancouver to Williams Lake:
By Air: Pacific Coastal Airlines and Central Mountain Air
By Greyhound Bus: Three buses daily
By car: There are three options. The quickest route is to take Highway 1 east to Hope, to the Coquihalla Highway (5) to Kamloops, then Highway 97 to northwest to Cache Creek and on to Williams Lake. The second route follows the Fraser River, and passes the famous Hells Gate Rapids and airtram. Take Highway 1 to Hope, then continue on 1 to Lytton and Cache Creek, then Highway 97 to Williams Lake. The third route is the most scenic. Take Highway 1 east to Horseshoe Bay, then 99 north to Whistler, home with Vancouver of the 2010 Winter Olympics, and continue to Lillooet and on towards Cache Creek passing the historic Hat Creek Ranch. At the intersection of 99 and 97, turn left and proceed on 97 to Williams Lake.

Travel from Williams Lake to Red Deer for the Barebones Festival:
By Air: Air Canada, Williams Lake to Vancouver, then Vancouver to Edmonton or Calgary and drive or bus from there.
By Greyhound Bus: Three transfers and over 24 hours, you don’t want to know!
By car: Return to Jasper by 100 Mile House, Little Fort, Tete Jaune Cache and Jasper. Turn southeast down the Icefields Parkway (93) to the junction of Highway 11. Turn left and follow 11 through Rocky Mountain House to Red Deer.
